According to physorg.com, urine is a better source of hydrogen fuel than pure water. Compared to pure water, lower electrolysis voltage is required to extract pure hydrogen. When hydrogen is fed to fuel cells, these fuel cells produce electricity and... drinking water. Scientists are now studying genetically-modifed bacteria, anammox, that lives without oxygen and transforms ammonium, the ingredient of urine, into hydrazine, a rocket fuel.
